Vitamin C, also known as vitamin C, is a polyhydroxy compound with the chemical formula C6H806. Its structure is similar to that of glucose, but the two adjacent enol hydroxyl groups in the 2nd and 3rd positions of the molecule are very easy to dissociate and release H+, so it has acidic properties and is also known as L-ascorbic acid. Vitamin C molecular structure of the alkenediol group has a strong reducing properties, widely used in polycarboxylic acid water reducing agent.

Polycarboxylic acid water reducing agent as a building material admixture has now been widely used in construction projects such as highways, high-rise buildings, bridges and culverts.
